When I was very young, I was diagnosed with selective mutism. This means that my vocal cords would shut down and I wouldn't be able to talk in public or even with a single new person. This followed me for all of my childhood up until 19 and 1/2 years old. In fifth grade I had the opportunity to choose an instrument to play. I chose the violin, because that's what my dad played. Little did I know that this would give me a way to express myself where words failed me. I loved playing violin and learning new things on it. It was a way that I could be involved with a bunch of friends without having to say a single word. Before that, I only had a handful friends. When my family moved from Colorado to the Mandeville/Covington area in 2007 I was in my junior year of high school. There were no programs in the school that I was zoned for, or any schools in the immediate area, that had orchestra or violin programs. Going without violin for 2 years inspired me to major in it in college. The goal of that degree was to come back to the Mandeville/Covington area and give people more of an opportunity that they didn't have before. While there are more opportunities available now than there was in 2009, I'm under the philosophy that a passion, such as music, shouldn't cost a fortune. Due to this I offer fair and reasonable prices for my services.
